Convert To and From PDF
Conversion between PDFs and images is a decoding and re-encoding job: the source is parsed, its visual content is drawn, and a new file is written in the target format. Layout is preserved as closely as the target format allows, but nothing recovers detail that was never in the source.
Image to PDF places each image on its own page. PDF to JPG renders each page and exports the set as a ZIP. OCR PDF renders each page and runs text recognition over it.
Tools in Convert To and From PDF
How these tools behave
- Image to PDF accepts PNG and JPEG images and keeps the order you arrange them in.
- PDF to JPG returns a ZIP archive containing one JPEG per page.
- OCR downloads its recognition engine and English language data from a third-party CDN the first time you use it.
Frequently asked questions
Does OCR work offline?
Not on first use. The recognition engine and the English training data are downloaded from a third-party CDN before the first document can be processed. The recognition itself then runs on your device.
Can I convert a PDF to Word?
No. These tools convert between PDF and images only. Reconstructing an editable word-processor document is a different problem and is not offered here.
