Limits and known behaviour
- Content is capped at 500 characters. Long text produces a dense pattern that is unreliable to scan in practice.
- Inverted colours — light foreground on a dark background — are rejected by many scanners. Keep the foreground dark.
- The code is static. It always points wherever you encoded, and cannot be redirected later without printing a new one.
- Printing too small or without a quiet margin around the code causes scan failures; keep clear space on all four sides.
- No logo overlay or artistic styling is offered, since both reduce scan reliability.

Medium is a good default for screens. Choose a higher level for printed codes that may be scuffed, curved or partially covered, accepting that the pattern becomes denser.
Why will my code not scan?
Most often contrast or margin: light-on-dark colours, insufficient quiet space around the pattern, or printing too small for the amount of data encoded.
