Crop PDF
Trim the margins of a PDF page by adjusting its visible page area.
What Crop PDF does
Cropping changes the visible boundary of a page. It is used to remove scanner borders, cut away excessive white space so a document reads better on a small screen, or isolate part of a large drawing.
The tool changes the page box rather than deleting content: the material outside the crop is hidden, not removed from the file.
- Visual crop area you drag over a rendered page
- Page-by-page navigation
- Saves a new document with the crop applied
How to use Crop PDF
- 1
Open your PDF
Navigate to the page you want to crop.
- 2
Drag the crop area
Set the region you want to keep.
- 3
Apply and download
The crop is applied to the page you are viewing; the other pages are saved unchanged.
Limits and known behaviour
- Only the page you are viewing is cropped. Applying the same crop across a whole document is not supported.
- Cropping hides content rather than deleting it. Text outside the crop box remains in the file and can still be extracted, so this is not a way to remove sensitive material.
- Cropping cannot straighten a skewed scan.
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened. The PDF library used here has no decryption support, so an encrypted file is rejected rather than partially processed. Remove the password in a PDF reader first.
- There is no file size limit, but the whole document is held in memory while it is processed. Very large or image-heavy files can make the tab slow or unresponsive on a device with limited RAM.
Privacy and data handling
Runs entirely in your browser
- Your PDF is read into this page by the browser and rebuilt here. It is never uploaded, so no copy of it exists on any server.
- The original file on your disk is not modified; the tool produces a new file for you to download.
- Nothing is kept after you close the tab.
Site-wide data handling, including analytics and advertising, is described in the privacy policy.
Frequently asked questions
Does cropping delete the content outside the box?
No. It changes which part of the page is displayed. The hidden content is still present in the file and can be recovered by removing the crop.
Can I crop all pages at once?
Not with this tool; it applies to the current page.
