Rotate PDF
Rotate PDF pages in 90-degree steps and save the corrected orientation permanently.
What Rotate PDF does
Scanned pages frequently arrive sideways or upside down. Rotating in a viewer only changes how it looks on your screen; the file itself is unchanged, so it opens wrong for the next person.
This tool writes the rotation into the document, so the corrected orientation travels with the file.
- Rotate a single page or every page at once
- 90-degree steps in either direction
- Preview each page before saving
- Reset back to the original orientation
How to use Rotate PDF
- 1
Open the PDF
Every page is rendered as a preview.
- 2
Rotate what needs it
Click a page to turn it, or rotate the whole document when a scan came out uniformly wrong.
- 3
Save
The rotation is written into the new file you download.
Limits and known behaviour
- Rotation is in 90-degree steps. Slightly skewed scans cannot be straightened by a few degrees.
- The page content is rotated as a whole; individual elements cannot be turned independently.
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened. The PDF library used here has no decryption support, so an encrypted file is rejected rather than partially processed. Remove the password in a PDF reader first.
- There is no file size limit, but the whole document is held in memory while it is processed. Very large or image-heavy files can make the tab slow or unresponsive on a device with limited RAM.
Privacy and data handling
Runs entirely in your browser
- Your PDF is read into this page by the browser and rebuilt here. It is never uploaded, so no copy of it exists on any server.
- The original file on your disk is not modified; the tool produces a new file for you to download.
- Nothing is kept after you close the tab.
Site-wide data handling, including analytics and advertising, is described in the privacy policy.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my viewer show the page correctly but everyone else sees it sideways?
Because your viewer applied a temporary on-screen rotation that was never saved to the file. Rotating here changes the document itself.
Can it straighten a crooked scan?
No. Only quarter-turn rotations are supported; correcting a small skew requires re-rendering the page content, which this tool does not do.
