Text Tools
Text utilities for writing, design and code: filler copy for a layout that has no content yet, a variable name that has to move between naming conventions, or a word count against an editorial limit.
They operate on whatever you paste, in the page, and keep nothing afterwards.

Frequently asked questions
Why do word counters disagree with each other?
Because 'word' is not precisely defined. Hyphenated compounds, numbers, and strings of punctuation are counted differently by different tools. What matters is using one consistently, and knowing that a limit set in one application may not match another exactly.
